Well, some of us metro-Detroiters that picked up the game at Origins got together tonight and played a couple of games.
Overall, it was a blast! We just did a couple of box-battles. Besides the obvious rule-questions (see
here...

) it was a very quick couple of games. A couple of observations:
1. Shotguns suck. Unless you're the APAC player, then they're great. But for me (Dravani-man) shotguns suck.
Ok, that's my only real observation.
Overall, had a great time playing and we're all looking forward to the next time we can get together and throw-down. Can't wait to throw some new things into the mix as well...

I tend to find flamethrowers worse than the shotgun though
just remember you do roll to see if the gun jams
and use feed to charge headfirst into the shotguns
or smokey mcsoulless especially with a swift charge

remember even if a template counts as missing he can still be clipped by it. drift not your friend

also remember that the template must be placed half over the nearest model. With a little bit of model placing practice you can minimize the effect of shotguns, flamers etc.

I played with Tusic last night and I agree -- shotguns suck.
I played CSO vs. APAC. Simple starter crews. I knew the Arashi was going to be tough. Good stats AND Craft abilities. Pretty deadly for 63 points. Arc nailed my team of Troopers. It jumps to every figure within 3"...which happens to be the unit coherency distance. So everyone got fried pretty bad (4d6 before counting armor). Then the Enforcers came up with their shotguns. (Yes, I tried not to get into their range.) Blam! Luckily my opponent (Dozer) wanted to try out various rules, like CC, so the rest of my troops weren't decimated in the next turn. In fact, it came down to my Marshal taking out the rest of APAC in CC. But like I said, had Dozer used his shotguns again, my Marshal would have been toast (unless his Legendary skill was successful).
Then I watched Tusic's Dravani get mowed down by APAC shotguns and Arashi Arc. Nasty.
Time to buy some APAC! Or get a Special Weapons Trooper with a Flamethrower.

What can be really fun is watching an APAC player that loves their shotguns have their Enforcer team suppressed and unable to move while 10" away from your troops.
Shotguns and flamethrowers rock up close, but you can learn to deal with them.

Ive never had luck with my arashi he has yet to hit someone with a ranged craft power and has thus far just sped around the board resulting in him punching things like a stomper (not effective) and an engineer (he broke off and I ended up on fire)
but man is he fun to use
but never forget that shotgun enforcers also carry a 9mm and the Lt. has a heavy pistol
with the marshal dont forget run and gun keeps him moving and quite possibly out of shotgun range the entire game

Does the Arashi have Leadership? If they don't then we were playing that wrong last night...
The Enforcers don't use the Arashi's nerve unless he's either in their unit or has leadership. That would make it easier to Suppress the Enforcers.

The card for the Arashi is correct; they have Leadership. It isn't listed in the book.

Yknow that should really be in the FAQ

I thought it had been, but I didn't see it when I looked.
The lack of leadership for the Dravani always made sense, but not having it for the crew leader for APAC never did.

w00t! I'm a part of Rezolution history! I got a question added to the FAQ!
Can I get some free stuff?
PS: the "free stuff" comment was in jest... I don't expect any free stuff... unless there's some just laying around somewhere that you want to get rid of.

Thursday is usually Warmachine/Hordes night at BDG. There're usually quite a few players there, but we'll see what happens.
Badger, you can get the address from www.bluedragongames.com.
Dozer, if you're going, we can carpool if you want. I'll try to get ahold of mailman...
