Picked up my third Sentinel a while back and decided it was time for an overdue conversion. Here's my progress so far, It's the shield leg (mostly the shield part)
made out ok some plasticard sheets and quarter circle strips along with loadz of greenstuff. The back is still pretty blank, so suggestions on what to do there would be nice. Tell me what you think, Thanks!

Awesome detailing! I'm envious!

Pyreos,

Excellent detail work, I like it. Keep up the good work.

Cheers

Tony

That shield is so ridiculous that its awesome. laugh.gif

Here's the latest addition to the bunch. I added what we can call a flamer, and now we're 2/3 of the way through converting, woo.
Just the flamer:

C&C please. Also, suggestions on what to do for that sword would be really nice. I've tossed around a few ideas, but none of them really worked out. Thanks!

Keep in mind that he's 16 and has only been doing conversion work for about the last year or less... He's getting very good very quick!
Chris Passeno
Good work Pyreos! I like it.

Seriously? Man, I feel untalented now.

Hi Sherman,

Wow, getting good exceedingly quickly is an understatement. smile.gif

Pyreos,

Keep up the excellent work.

Cheers

I finally fudged my way through a sword, and here's the final product. Painting comes next I suppose.

Where's the kitchen sink?

I like the Vatacina Cross on your painting table by the way...

Absolutely brilliant conversion !
Pyreos
Here's my painting progress so far. It can count as a conversion since I dropped it and lost the auxilary kerosene tank DX. Oh well.

gah. I killed the initial photo of my progress on this one, but you can still kindof make it out beneath the butchery... This is my concept of a lighter model of a sentinal, something that moves like lightning, but is really no good at shooting or taking hits. the head & underside will be domed with eyes, and the unused spaces on the hex core(the center part of the body) with be used to mount 3 light machine guns.

More progress here. Haven't had a whole lot of time for painting lately, but I worked on the metals (the gray ones) and finished the purple. I'm really ending up not liking how much surface area is on the sheild, but that's something to get used to with painting.

oh, something else I learned: don't take pictures on a granite counter and try to photoshop out the background....
Here's the end of my side-project. It was made out of Games-workshop sprues, wire, some plasticard, the end of an old brush, and, of course, Greenstuff.

I really like your sculpting. I've gone through loads of green stuff and all I can seem to sculpt is something resembling a very large booger sad.gif

I'm working with green stuff right now and I feel your pain!

I try to keep my fingers wet as well as my tools, but it seems I cannot over come the sticky nature of the reaction/hardening. rolleyes.gif

spit works best! That's one thing I learnt from all you Brits on the MGP forums long ago! smile.gif
Gimp
I've known a few people that use a thin coat of vaseline on their scultping tools.

I've also found that wood doesn't adhere to the green stuff as much, so I use some sharpened pieces for detail work.
Chris Passeno
Try ProCreate. It's less sticky.
Pyreos
Finally done, and glad to be there.

As far as greenstuff goes, it you really get better as you play with it. My first "sculpt" was nothign more than a few globular ovals glued together and attatched to another mini...

Gimp & Chris:
Thanks for the tip(s). I've also wanted to try Apoxie Sculpt, but there's none (that I know of) in my town so I'd have to drive 20min. south to Loveland.

Pyreos:
Finished purifier looks great.
Sherman
Awesome job! So when do we get to see this thing in person?? Seems like forever since you've been in... Though I understand today was Mother's Day! Hope things are going well.
lucky251
Nice !
Pyreos
Yeah sorry. Between school, family and other things, I've really had no time on sundays. This week will be different! Ideally...
